"Silent 30 + 55 W 35 dBA" Funny enought but this market is unable to produce a device with this silent mode as default, by design mode. 80w AND good cooling-never happened so far. It's either shitty cooling or way more watts.

I think the 18" is a better buy overall. It's not much heavier (maybe 500g heavier) and gets better thermals.

Both the 18" and 16" SCAR seem to have questionable ergonomics. I wish that were not the case.

The speakers are good, but not as good as the Asus Zephyrus G16 on either SCAR notebook, so there's room for improvement there in another generation, as the thicker chassis should allow for better speakers. The webcam being bad I think is not acceptable at this price point.

One big question is the pricing. With the tariffs and trade wars, I'm afraid that pricing may go up for all laptops in the near future.

Can we expect similar performance from the lower tier Strix G18 with the RTX5080?

more or less yes, but cooling is different on that one so temperatures could be worse and with some potential impact on performance. I should have a review unit within a few weeks.

I tried for a week to get my Scar 16 to pull less than 35w on battery power to no avail, I've used every Power Option prolfile from to "Balanced" to "PD Silent". As a result, my maximum battery runtime is about 2.5 hours. Turning off Lighting of keyboard and doesn't seem to increase more than 10 minutes. What am I doing wrong? How can I reduce power draw down to 20w or lower as claimed to be possible in the article?

Interesting. My settings are default, Silent mode with Best Battery Efficiency in Windows mode. And dGPU on Standard.
